What is wrong with the main site ?

Doesn't the main site ever work properly ?

Just got back from a lovely week away at a CL in Northumberland, and now I can't access its listing to leave a review ..... !!

All I get is some stupid 'holding page' for "We're getting ready for 2017"

I'm sure that lots of folk are looking forward to 2017 but some of us happen to caravan year round. It really makes my temper itch when sites don't work properly

I posted something similar on the what are you up to today. Can't look at reviews, can't check prices or the up to date CL's. The handbook is two years old so CL's could  have joined or left . I'd be furious if I had a CL. Don't know how long the message has been coming up. Someone else on thread already mentioned said they wanted to amend a booking and couldn't so phoned the site, the wardens couldn't access booking either.

Its a joke in this day and age. If you went to purchase something in a shop and had a response along similar lines (unable to process payment etc) you wouldn't be happy.

It seems to be an archaic system where bookings can't be made at least twelve months in advance and you have to be poised at a set time, with limited time to book, and the whole website is affected for several days to accommodate it

Have a look at the "Good Luck" posting in the UK Sites section. Your posting's subject has been discussed there.

It's seemingly been pared to the bone to divert resources to the booking system. It happens every year. It'll only be temporary - probably.

Checked out the good luck thread. Hadn't realised although logic should have implied it, App not working either.

Sad that in this day and age where we are encouraged to use the tech ways, CC pushes app too , that such disruption occurs

It is still possible to use the app to look at both sites and CL's. However, because the CC have actually taken it down, you need to turn your wifi connection off ( put pad / phone in airplane mode will do). If the app has a connection it comes up with a warning that it is not available and refuses to load. Without the connection you can search and filter as normal, as the most recent download is all on your device.

Taken from the website home page:

"Our 2017 season launches on 7 December, when UK site bookings will open at 8am!

To get our systems ready to take bookings we've had to temporarily switch off all search and book functionality. This means some areas of the website will be unavailable until 8 December, including Search and Book, Search by Map and Certificated Location (CL) Search. Telephone bookings will also be unavailable on 6 December and will open at 8am on 7 December."

So the site is working as discribed. Its only a day or two, surely posting a review can wait a few hours. Happy

I can't see any real problem either. My bank is closed Saturday afternoon and all Sunday, plus occasional BH Mondays,  and occasionally the Internet side is also down on a Sunday. Just one of those things, systems need updating. Also it happens every year, so people should be able to prepare for it, in most cases. The only difficult one being cancelling or modifying a booking at late notice. But you are going to get a black mark anyway, so little is lost. Whenever they did it some would be inconvenienced. The thing I can't understand is this, you can log on from 7 and browse the site. You can, but the very thing you may want access to, site details, is still barred.
