As this has been discussed many times and this post will be locked to stopped any comments.

Yes you can book a year in advance but this still stops people booking a a whole week (7 days) due to the weekend bookings. The problem is not going to go away until something is done about the weekend blocking. I suggest that the club takes a look at the amount of weekend bookings. I notice that there are discounts for midweek booking so this surely must show that CMC must be loosing out on revenue do to weekend blocking.

The CAMC already capitalizes on the weekend trade, looking at my May booking, by increasing the fees, never seen a receipt like it, more akin to a supermarket till printout.

That is just simple exploitation by stretching peak.😉Particularly the early May BH, which for the last few years has also included the Monday night, despite not many stopping as they have to go to work on the Tuesday. Therefore you get a price drop on some sites of over £12 (for two) between Monday and Tuesday.

Some times things are not what you think they are. I'm retired and have plenty of free time during the week to book a mid week pitch but all of our short bookings are over a weekend. Normally Friday till Monday.

Why you may ask, Well there is the little problem of my 94 year old disabled, housebound mother in law who lives with us and our family and friends can only share the carer duties when their not at work at the weekends.

Dose that make me a weekend blocker or victim of circumstance who is able to take a break because the booking system being as it is. Why try and fix something that isn't broken cool

p.s. Were actually going to take her with us in the spring to Moreton in Marsh (Midweek you'll be pleased to hear) having booked Her a Glamping Pod to stay in. Should be fun smile  Just need to work out how we are going to accommodate the wheelchair, walking frame and other kit we'll need to take surprised

There are ways around your difficulty providing you are willing to take a bit of a risk. Do what I do. If I want to visit a particular site for particular dates I book the days available and then keep an eye on the booking page and invariably odd days become available which can then be booked until I get the total period I want. You also have the option of phoning the site on the off chance they have had a cancellation which has not yet made its way onto the system. Unfortunately if you want to book your stay in one go months ahead then you are more likely to be disappointed. Booking of pitches can only be done on a first come first served basis regardless of length of booking.

If the weekends are fully booked then it is clearly possible to make weekend bookings. Someone has beaten you to it.  If you are so keen to go to Club sites at weekends then get in first a year ahead - book every weekend and cancel later if you change your mind.

Quite evidently I have hit a raw nerve and bow to your opinions.

I still think that a deposit should be charged with every booking

Just because most, if not all, posts disagree with you does not mean that you have hit a raw nerve ..... it simply means that others have a different point of view.

Are you on the right thread?

I have just had a look at the Late Availability for the next two weekends - there appears to be loads of space for full weekend stays at many sites.

We love our weekends away in fact going in a couple of hours to Melrose for the rugby.

So do we, in fact the majority of our bookings are weekends, Fri - Sunday as we work full time and only have limited holidays.   When we do have holidays, we plan them in advance and book the sites as soon as we can.   If the pitch isn't available, it's disappointing, but we choose and book another.

I don't agree that weekenders should be penalised - after they miss out on the cheaper mid-week discounts anyway.

Which site did you want to stay on hotfog?

Other than three or four exceptionally busy and popular ones, have to say that we are like Nellie and sometimes phone a site on the dayto get a pitch, even at weekends.
