i was due to visit blackmore caravan club site last weekend but i had to cancel as a close family member had a stroke and died a few days later so i filled in the cancellation form and when asked for a reason i clicked the option for berevement i thought the club would understand due to the circumstances, oh no they dont!

i had an e-mail confirming my cancellation and notifying me i had a strike against me and if i booked elsewhere for the same dates then they would remove the strike, if i'm not going away due to berevement i'm not going anywhere! i have sent a complaint via e-mail but it has not been answered and its been almost a week it has got me wondering if i would like to continue as a member next year.

if i was a 70 or 80 year old lady that had just cancelled due to a husband of 50 or 60 years who had been a life long caravanning partner would they be given a strike? as i'm very sure that would upset them further.

a note to the club i am sure that my great grandma is very sorry that he took ill and will not do it again i'm afraid.

Dear Mr Brown

We are sorry that you had to cancel your booking with us, but as the cancellation was made less than 72 hours before you were due to arrive, it has been noted as a late cancellation on our records.

You will be contacted by The Club if there is more than one occasion of a late cancellation this year, however if you book another of our Club sites within 24 hours and within the same date range of this late cancellation, it will not be counted as a breach.
