has anyone else noticed how this varies across the network different sites have different prices some jump to peak season on 30 June while other later in July ,Clumber Park is peak season next weekend 31st March why that's not Easter as it's two weeks after ,I'm not paying Peak rates so far from a Bank holiday I booked Hebden Bridge as it's not got a toilet block is cheaper perhaps someone from the club can explain this !!!!!

Easy to Explain really. For many counties (including the one in which Clumber ark resides), schools break up on 31st March. Hence peak period starts.

Scottish summer holiday starts end of June, so sites popular with Scottish members start peak seson then too.

These extended peak seasons are a recent thing.

Up here, schools go back mid August, but we have to suffer peak season on many sites up here till the english schools return.

Npot sure that I see Hebden Bridge as a viable alternative to Clumber Park. They are hardly near to each other

you're right they are not near each other but I'm not paying £20.80 at the end of March for Clumber Park as it's not a Bank Holiday it's about time the club stopped cashing in on school holidays

ye but 1st april isn't a Bank hol and just realised I made a mistake on my booking for that day booked this weekend by mistake and had Hebden is coming up peak season rates not going ,the reason I object is I'm single on a low income so the longer each peak season is the less I can go away

Whoops, you're already within 72 hours of noon on Saturday.

Being sIngle actually means you pay less than those units with two of more people on board. I'm afraid it's the same for all of us - we either pay up or go elsewhere or stay home.frown

I had this discussion recently with the CC as it was then, but only got the standard response that they have only reacted to sites which are popular late June early July. When I pointed out sites which are nearly impossible to book on close to ones which have been increased and they have not suffered the same fate I got the no comment responsešŸ™„

Some one said this to me the other night. We should perhaps consider the higest price as the norm and all lower prices to be discounts in an effort to encourage folk to visit out of season.  smilewink
