No discussion about dogs

It seems that we are not allowed to talk about dog's but everyone who thinks they're a nuisance  is shouted down as someone really odd.

We are on two weeks holiday on two separate sites and on both sites we have had to pick up dog poo on our pitch.

The new game is to take the dogs for walks round the site and then stop on people's pitches to have a wee. Most of the time there are several of them. This results in a horrible smell when sitting out, particularly in hot weather.

The problem is getting worse and worse with most people arriving with more than one.  We have been next to one who had five large dogs.  This was the one who walked to the front of our pitch on the front at white house beach and let them all pee on our pitch not his.

I do feel even though I have owned dogs in the past that we are becoming a branch of the kennel club.  We really should have areas either dog free or limit to two  dogs only.

I do realise that I will become a target for dog lovers but I have also had dogs but I do not want to be in a pack of them constantly barking and leaving their mess on my pitch.

One other thing.

How do you stop the lazy owners who slip their dogs out early mornings when they think we are still asleep. I sure this is all the recurring poo comes in the morning

Your post is being discussed in the Dogs thread.

I never realised there was a "Dogs thread". I can't see Dogst in any of the Topic headers.

By the way, I agree with the OP that bad behaviour by dog owners is not acceptable Smile

It's a sticky in UK Sites, Graham, but not meant for complaints which should be addressed at source.

Ah, I've found that now.

Looking at the topic title, though, I would expect it to be meant for advice for people who want to take their dogs with them and are unsure of any problems they might come across.

Surely it isn't meant to preclude threads like this one though is it? That would smack too much of censorship by vested interests.

See the CM's OP in that thread, Graham. She explains it there. Problems encountered should, she says, be addressed on site or taken up with HQ.

Ours is not to reason why....
