Have just received the May copy of the New motor home magazine from the club . I say Motor home magazine because that it what mainly contains. Why can't the magazine contain something for all. Wish i could get a discount from the Club for not receiving it as it will reduce the recycling.

Really? One review and a few pages covering the Motorhome Design Awards! What about the months when it contains caravan reviews and awards, tow car reviews and tow car of the year results?

I think you’re overreacting a bit, Leyton, and you can opt out of receiving the magazine if recycling is an issue.๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

This is exactly what i was getting at Tinwheeler. Why can't the magazine contain content for both Motor homes & Caravans. Why should i pay for a magazine that does not serve my needs. As this costs the Club money then perhaps there should be a reduction in membership fees if we choose not to receive it

You can receive it digitally as we do then you have the option to read it or not but no reduction in membership, Oh glanced at it last month for the first time in a few years and probably will be a few more years again too many adverts.

When i started we had the on route which was a magazine suitable for our hobby. not the rubbish that we get now.

It does cater for all but not all at the same time. They can’t physically fit all you want in each issue. Most months lean towards caravans, in my opinion, so is it not equitable that MHs get a look in now and again?

I think you will find that advertising pretty much covers the cost of producing the mag in which case it doesn't cost us anything much at all.

Times change and the days of the rather grey En Route are long gone. Today is about new developments, encouraging the next generation to enjoy the hobby and generally looking to the future rather than backwards. We have to move with the times.

why do you think it costs the cub money? I thought it was self financing by the adverts?

It was called Enroute, and like many other aspects of life, things have moved on a little. What was/is your hobby is now a huge business, and the magazine probably reflects this. The adverts tend to cover most of the cost of production, so a reduction for not receiving it possibly wouldn’t be viable. Do like we do, opt to read it online. We ditched the paper version months ago, and in all honesty I don’t think I have even glanced at it online. Your local library might provide caravanning mags more to your taste, possibly online and free as well.

Yes,times do change....and if you believe all of the crap that going on at the moment the younger  generation will be stuck in their caves with no transport to visit other areas,no animals to eat,no fire to cook their vegetables on,no paper magazines and no future!!!!!!
