Had the opportunity to get across to Kegworth to "meet the club" this afternoon.

The discussions were very interesting and there was obviously a good deal of preparation gone into the content of them.

However, the concerns relating to the implementation of the Site Pitches and Spacing were more or less dismissed offhand.

The criterion given for the need to do this being the Safety and Comfort of the Membership.  When pressed on this... about what particularly had changed to bring about the conformal pitching requirements and removal of Awning Pitches from a number of sites, it seemed to be intimated that the CC's insurers were probably behind this.  This topic was handled by the Club Chairman.  Seemed like the thing is that they feel that they had to do something and it had to be done now; because it couldn't be left as it was...in other words we're telling you, but not telling you why.
