is the Club about touring or static holidays?

Reading the latest magazine I was annoyed to read an AGM comment that motorhomes are causing problems because they stay on a site for a few nights and spoil the opportunity for a week's booking.

Personally all the people dashing to book in December for next year spoil my opportunity for going away on a whim and touring, stopping off for a few nights then moving on to pastures new.

As a touring caravanner who probably only stays 2 or 3 nights on club sites I must beg forgiveness for any club members that I inconvenience.  On the other hand on the three club sites I stay at this year there were plenty of empty pitches so where’s the problemwink

After my one or two nights stay on those very busy sites I'd bet that the next night or nights after me will be taken up by someone else who wants to spend a night or several nights! wink

Perhaps I should attend the AGM and complain about those members (both caravanners and motorhomers, for balance) who book sites for a week or more as they often prevent me booking my 2/3/4 days tripswink

I suspect that 2,3,4,5 day trips are not a problem provided they don't include Friday or Saturday David

We now tend to stay about 3 or 4 nights maximum on any one site. When we had a caravan we tended to stay 5 or 6 then move on. We have always had the urge to move on to pastures new and rarely stayed for a week on any site ever, well not since we moved on from a tent. Don't like being in any one place too long as its easy to move if you travel light.

Its obviously someone who can't get the weekends with their hols on a particular site.  They ignore the fact weekends are booked in four ways:

separately

at the beginning of hols

at the end of hols

beginning and end of hols for workers that like to get the most out of their holiday allowance

I'm amazed there's any weekends left to book!!!

the subject is just another example of the rivalry between Tuggers and Motorhomers among the CMC customers.

Why !!!  .------  We all enjoy our holidays in our own way.  It's time that caravanners accepted that motorhomes are here to stay.

wink

The subject simply shows some peoples stupidity. It is neither caravans nor motorhomes that prevent week bookings. It is both at weekends.

The " problem" of full w/ends is mostly in the minds of a few who do not plan and /or do not have a thought for those who have not the option,if they work
