Increase in Membership fees

Hi All,

We have ordered our MH for delivery in March 2017.

We haven't yet joined the club because we don't want to waste 3 months of membership before we get our MH. But I believe CC fees go up every January and I was wondering by how much. If its a fair bit then we might as well just join the club before 01/01.

Thanks.

The annual increase is usually about 5 times the inflation rate.......unless they want to raise some extra funds.

Tell us about your MH, FB. What have you ordered?

To be honest, compared to the cost of a MH, a £ or 2 on the membership fee is a tiny spot in the ocean. I thought you were favouring C&CC as there are so many things about CC you're not happy with.Undecided

The membership is for a year from the day you join, so you may think you will pay more if you wait, the second year you will have saved, that is the logic I have come to understand since being married Tongue Out

On that basis don't join until you actually have your new MH, which may not be on the date you expect, notoriously they are late.

When we bought a MH we joined the C&CC for the first year to basically learn the ropes, never renewed it as we found more freedom without a club.

When we converted to the caravan we joined the CC for the first year to learn the ropes, however we continued our membership and this second year we have made more use of the CL network. Maybe we are older and wiser or just too busy with a young family to have to do too much leg work.

yes outfits fees with far far outweight amy increase in site or membership fees. So you can either enjoy your new MH and/or sites or be grumpy like some about a few pounds. And you don't have to join the club if you're not happy with  the increase or if its a a site don't go.

We've ordered a Bailey Autograph 75-2 which has 2 travel seats and a fixed bed. We wanted a fixed bed because we didn't fancy making a bed each night.  The Bailey has everything else that we wanted such as a fully fitted kitchen with a large fridge - freezer. We went to the NEC show in October and were going to order a Caravan but backed off because the size of Van we wanted would have meant us buying a new tow car.

What you say about the few extra pounds that membership costs against the cost of a MH is spot on and had put things into perspective for me.

I dont recall saying I would prefer the C&CC over the CC but I might have done.

The MH sounds good, FB.

You were certainly weighing up which club to join and seemed to favour C&CC because you appeared to dislike CC's booking system so much. You could, of course, join both as many of us do.

I believe you have a dog and you will find both clubs welcome our canine friends with open arms.

 Thanks TW.

We intend to head down to Cornwall as much as we can next season. Last year we spent a week just outside Padstow and we had the most fantastic week. The Beach at Padstow was lovely (however Rick Steins fish and chips were poor). We also intend to visit Anglesey as much as we can. Its about 2 hours from us and we love its tranquility.

As for which club to join most of our friends have said the CC is better because their sites are a bit more structured and you know exactly what you're getting through the CC with consistency throughout their sites.

PS can anyone fix the spell checker on this site   Undecided

Spill chocker? I thought you'd know by now it never works.

What site did you stay on near Padstow? As for Stein, who can afford that?Surprised

We were in the area 2 years ago. Looked at Steins menu and some claptrap about simple unspoiled fish together with a menu of currified, chillifried, modified dishes rofl

The most the Club has increased the subscripion by in the last few years has been £2. Given they have to raise an extra £1M a year to meet new legislation, I think £2 could be about right for 2017 making it a cool £50 and putting about £750,000 into the piggy bank?
