How many members does the CC have?

During a chat at the weekend one of my motorhoming friends and I had a bet about how the total.membership of the CC compares with that of the C&CC, and if the membership of each is increasing or decreasing.

I said I would find out when I was back on line, but somehow the CC search function does no allow that information to be shown.

I am only interested in the number of primary members, not joint or family members.

If anybody knows where to find this info I would be happy to look it up-----  After all there's money riding on the answers.  (My bet was that the CC came out tops).
