I am posting this on behalf of my brother who joined the Caravan Club in early 1990s and who has had to cancel his booking less than 24 hours before his holiday started because his wife was taken ill and rushed to hospital for treatment?

He writes:

I received an email from the Caravan Club which I read and am extremely angry and distressed under the circumstance. My wife is extremely poorly, has been for a few days now, the cancellation email sent because it was less than 72 notice is very upsetting to say the least. I rang the site to cancel as soon as I was able to, but still 20 hours before the booking was due to start. I rang because my wife was rushed to hospital and Not because I am someone who fancied a different location , who according to the email would not now be in breach of booking regulations! Although because i did ring, they say I am!  I would suggest all members who have made a booking to think twice about becoming ill before there holidays.
When we are able shall consider the FRIENDLY CLUB for future outings.  PB

So, do you think these warning of breach of conditions should apply to those who are unable to go away because of illness?  I have to agree with my brother, I think the CC are not friendly under the circumstance and should perhaps understand that people can not help being ill!
