Family Membership - question

The Club website states:  "You can include a joint member to your membership free of charge. Additional family members can be added for £8 each."
https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/faqs/membership#joining

I was under the impression that the above only applies to family members sharing a single outfit (caravan / motorhome), and that they use the same address.

Is this the case, or could (distant) family members pay the extra £8 (same membership number but different names on the cards), have different outfits and live at different addresses (albeit using one correspondence address and share one magazine / Sites Directory)?

The answer to the OP, as far as I understand, is that a family member has to be a close relative who stays at the same address.

As a family member, they can use the lead members outfit on sites, at member rates, without the lead member being present.  This would apply on all Club sites, and on CLs.

Our daughter was a family member for a few years for just this purpose, and she was then able to use our van, which we sited for her, and take a friend along.

My eldest daughter has on a number of occasions joined me on CC sites. Simply paid for the extra person and on occasion for parking

As K says. You go onto a club site with a guest and you pay members rates. It is that simple.

Thanks Kj and EasyT I have got that one now. smile

What happened to us was obviously wrong. It is the address issue on member only sites, as stated by the OP that appears to raise questions.

I suppose  you could cheat slightly and say the "family member" did stay at the same address, but they would only be able to use your outfit, not one of their own.

Tracy, can you reconfirm that on a members only site or a CL we can take a non member as a guest in our van. Many thanks. smile

Hi Brue,

Sorry for the late reply but I have been away from Club Together.

I am pleased to confirm, you are welcome to have non Members stay with you in your outfit on all of our Club sites.

Best Regards

Tracy

So long as a Member, ie lead, joint or family, is staying on site they can have anybody stay with them.

So what is the position if the sole member goes off to, say, Tesco for supplies leaving three non-members on site?

Or the sole member goes off on a day trip leaving some of the others?

Hi Navigateur,

Sorry for the late reply but I have been away from Club Together.

Non Members can stay with Members in their outfits so long as the Member is in the outfit overnight.

I hope this makes sense but please let me know if not.

Thanks

Tracy

Hi All,

Hopefully everybody is clear on who can stay on sites now. If anybody would like me to explain anything further please ask away.

Happy Touring.
