Dogs, owners and the club

It was the last morning of a glorious 5 weeks away touring Shetland and Scotland. We were pitched close to the beach at the clubs New England site and planning an early departure for the last leg of our journey home.  I had woken before the alarm at 6.30 and saw the sun peeking through the blinds.  Slipping on a pair of shorts and shirt, I ventured outside to greet the morning sun.  I was just a few feet away from our motorhome when suddenly, with a lot of barking and yapping, a Pug dog came flying from under the van and began trying to bite my feet and ankles.  In trying to evade this, I thought at the time that I had hit my foot against the pitch marker post when I was suddenly in shuddering pain, but a few weeks later, sitting here in plaster, I now know it was my Achilles tendon snapping.

I may yet have to have an operation to repair the damage.  Whatever, our future motorhoming activities are on hold...indefinitely, including our already planned couple of months in Spain this October.

The incident was reported to the site warden, although unfortunately I have no idea who the dog owner was.  I don't really see this as an accident; if the dog was not running loose it would never have happened.

I clearly would now have a serious 'gripe' against the dog owner...if I knew who they were, I suspect they made a hasty retreat back to their van and went into hiding!

Personally, I think the club share some responsibility here...any views opinions please?
