Club junketing at the NEC

Well, having just seen ther menu and wine list for the Caravan Club Design Awards i would like to know, but know I won't get an answer, why on earth the Club is yet again spending so much of 'our' money on  entertaining their mates. Fine if they must have a competition/awards but why such a lavish do at the NEC? Would someone from the Club like to justify it? explain how many they entertained and how many Club staff/Committee were also entertained. I'm told this is one of the highlights of the show to be invited.
