As a relative newcomer to caravanning (3 years) having camped a huge amount in the past we have now been members of both clubs. I thought it might be interesting to contrast the two clubs.

Caravan Club Pros: Internet booking process is simple, Choose your own pitch stops wondering whether you might have done better, Deposit free booking, no minimum stay, enforced no ball game rules, CL network, friendly wardens

Caravan Club Cons: No family discount, Impossible to book on some sites: Chatsworth or Cornwall in summer knowing that there will be last minute cancellations!

'Other' Club Pros: No vehicle movement after 11am. Directions to sites (on A4 print out) are really clear, less adult only sites, better long term booking (deposit related), map search is good, family discount, CL network, friendly wardens

'Other' Club Cons: Noisy tenters! Lose deposit even if you cancel months in advance, Two night minimum especially holidays and weekends means its impossible to break a journey, allocated pitches

What do you think?
