Benefits of membership

There has been quite an amount of criticism lately, not least  about changes to site vouchers given free with CC credit card usage. Whilst no organisation can ever be perfect, I appreciate  benefits I gain  from being  a member of CC and CCC.

Through CC in the past 12 months in addition to free site vouchers I have benefitted from these savings:

£18 on dual membership of Friends of Historic Houses Association (so far we have visited 23 properties including castles at Hever, Alnwick and Bamburgh which means that visiting them has worked out at less than £1.30 per person per property)

OS maps prices

2 for 1 entries at museums from "Your Great savings Guide"

over £30 on Mayday  breakdown cover as compared with the same cover through CCC

ferry prices

10% discount on meals in certain places.

Likewise, although some CC members dismiss CCC, I have gained the following through being a member:

consistently the best prices for the level of motorhome insurance cover we require

consitently cheaper continental breakdown and personal insurance than Red Pennant for the same level of cover.

This year we changed house insurance from Prudential to Guardian Royal through CCC and halved the price for the same cover with an additional benefit of the opportunity to be away from home for a longer period.

Through CCC this year we have also had:

10% discount at Go Outdoors

inexpensive prices at Temporary Holiday Sites in peak season

25% discount at CCC sites outside of high season through the Age Discount Scheme.

Thank you to staff of both clubs who negotiate these benefits and discounts. For us the benefits and membership fees of belonging to both clubs far outweigh any negative points.
