Awning or not?

We've just found out about the new rule....standard pitch with awning or standard pitch without awning, even though the pitches are the same size in many cases?? This being due to the health and safety brigade stipulating that, now, its unsafe to have an awning on a pitch that is too close to the next pitch...in the words of one warden I've spoke to..those with a grass strip at the side of the them cannot have anything canvas on them? Be it tent/awning/windbreak?? In number terms, this means Castleton for example now has 25 pitches where awnings cannot be erected!! This raises several points, not least why this has not been publicised? Taking Castleton as the 'norm' my pitch availabilty has been reduced by 25%, will my annual subscription fee be reduced similarly. Pitches remain the same price, awning or not??

The CC has scored a massive own goal with this, please don't hide behind health and safety, I'd be interested to know the last time an incident was attributable to an awning being 'a grass strip' too close! I hope the CC have supplied their wardens with tin hats...they will be getting some flak over the next few months!
