Are Readers' Letters a waste of space?

Just received the May 2014 mag., and the readers' letters were so boring.  Mostly, the theme is along the lines of how nice a site is, praise for wardens (almost certain to get one's name in print!), and look what we've got, or look how we enjoy ourselves.

I have, in the past, sent in items that could be useful info for other members, and I am sure that many members have sent in failed articles that would have been useful info for me.    But these articles generally drop straight into the editorial bin.

What if the sites are 'nice' and the wardens friendly? Don't we pay enough for the privilege of the good quality offered?

Sorry, but I want more letters from members that pass on useful ideas and tips that can add pleasure (and sometimes safe practices) to our own camping activities.
