72 hour cancellation Rule. Is this sensible!!

Oonce you tell people that they can cancel with no penalty 72 hours before departure you are encouraging them to book ahead 'just in case'. Particularly when you are sending an e-mail reminding them to cancel before the deadline.

I really don't think the solution to last minute cancellations is well served by the 72 hour rule. Not I suggest a well thought out solution at all. It is only likely to catch out those that have a genuine last minute reason not to travel. It also gives a green light to the very folk that the club wishes to discourage. Come on CC think this through a little.
