Hi everyone,

We need six Nominated Members to join the Club Council. The Council helps to shape the direction of the Club and conveys the views of the wider membership to the Executive Committee, which in effect is the Board of Directors. The Council meets twice a year, usually on a Saturday in spring and autumn, with the next meeting taking place on 6 April 2019. Nominated Members also have the potential to be selected to serve on the Executive or other Committees of the Club.

We are particularly interested in applications from members with expertise and experience in one or more of the following areas:

Automotive technical knowledge
Finance
Property and estates
Insurance
Travel

For more information about how the Club works, please visit explore the ‘About Us’ section. If you would like to apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter of no more than 200 words explaining why you would like to be considered by noon on Monday 18 February 2019 to the Head of Governance (governance@camc.com). Shortlisted candidates will be invited along to our Head Office in East Grinstead in March.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Hi Rowena, just noticed the date above should it be 15th or 22nd as the 18th is a Monday.

Edit from Community Manager: Sincere apologies, I have corrected this now to Monday 18th.

This should be an excellent opportunity for a member or 2 of this forum to help shape the future of the CAMC, better than just complaining on here!

Absolutely, Kev. Those who dislike most things club related now have the chance to make a difference.👍🏻

I am all for people taking part as I am sure many of us do with groups and organisations nearer to where we live but unconnected with the Club. My slight concern is the listed requirements for the sort of people they are looking for as that could well put someone off who may well have a lot of experience of the Club but not in those specialities.

And I bet not one of those will bother, much easier to complain than make a difference.

Might get more response if Club could confirm candidates will be paid expenses for travel, and if required overnight accommodation. Heck of a trek for some folks (Scotland, NE, NW, SW) to attend for interview and subsequent meetings. Apologies if it is made clear on application.

Will you, or any of you other doubting Thomases, nominated me?

I think you need to be a member before you can be nominated, DD. 😉
