Nice site but a bit noisy at times

We stayed here for 4 nights, having just travelled up from Devon. Our usual routine is, as I am the only driver, is that once arrived hubby goes in to pay fees etc. He returned to say we'd been charged for a serviced pitch, which I would not have booked for, but he didn't query it! So a more expensive stay than planned! We arrived just before 2pm so no queue to get in but not many great pitches left either. We ended up at the top corner on Red 34, huge pitch as you'd expect, handy for shower block etc. This roadway was basically a dead end so we weren't disturbed by cars/vans going up and down. However, it was also the entrance to the area for dogs so quite a few yappy muts going to and fro to disturb the peace. Overall the site is nice but seemed a bit neglected in places with untidy grass and weeds, quite a lot of nettles next to our pitch. It's a 10 minute walk in to Moreton which is a delightful place, with plenty of good bars and coffee shops. We took the train to Oxford for a day out which was brilliant plus there is a bus which picks up outside the Corn Exchange and goes to Bourton on the Water, even on a Sunday. We had a lovely holiday, well worth a visit.
