We arrived on the first day of opening on 12th April. Having been contacted in advance to pay before arrival, we were greeted outside by a friendly warden (on her first day) and on checking our number plate, greeted us by name and opened the barrier for us - a very smooth and quick check-in on a day of 150+ arrivals. After setting up without incident, we were impressed how well the wardens ran the toilet blocks and visited frequently to make sure everyone was abiding by the rules. We felt safe and well looked after. Also, well done to the CMC for lobbying the government to allow toilet blocks to open. Yes, we had to use our own shower but as a family of five, we appreciated the use of the other facilities. Many non CMC sites are not able to do so yet, I gather. The site is very well positioned on the edge of the town and with plenty of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. The only aspect that may affect some people is the work going on close to the pods. We were out much of the days but for those close by and wanting to sit quietly outside their unit, it might become annoying. It won't last for much longer though. All in all, another lovely stay at this super site. So good to be away after five months of hibernation.
