Small, Scruffy Pitches

Moreton-in-Marsh site must be long overdue a major pitch refurbishment from what I have seen on this visit. Okay, admittedly it has been a wet Easter, but it doesn't excuse flooded pitches, mud and filthy puddles everywhere you look. I don't know when the site was built or last updated, but it definitely represents an earlier age of caravanning. Pitches are much too small to accommodate modern, generally longer caravans and the large SUV's needed to pull them. Cars are parked at the front of pitches with two wheels often trespassing onto the service road. The service road looks narrow in places too. This makes towing a caravan around the site quite difficult. Perhaps none of this would matter if the hard standing pitches were all well maintained, but they aren't. Most are bare of a stone surface and various greenery and weeds are growing through what little decent surface is left. It all looks very scruffy and untidy. But that's presumably okay because we can all proudly say that we are now The Caravan and Motorhome Club with brand new colours and badging. Money well spent when so many club sites seem like they are languishing in some degree of neglect.
