This is the second visit over a few years. It is heaving and awful. Each pitch just has enough room for caravan and awning cars park in front of caravans, people sit on the green area by your caravan. It’s noisy. The lovely dog walk has been halved for clamping pods. The local area is lovely and handy to walk into Moreton in the Marsh. Male warden at check in very helpful female felt was abrupt. Would not recommend unless you like being on top of others.

You must be on the original part of the site as some of the pitches are a bit tight but as you had been before i think you appreciate  that when we go we tend to use the newer part where the pitches are bigger, can understand it being very busy at this time of year as it is a very  popular site for families,we tend to go out of  the school holiday periods

Strange that, we generally like to rough it a bit ' going off grid' or just settle for the usual basic site with shower block, hook up etc.  We decided to for the Marton Mere Holiday Village Blackpool which is Haven park, price was reasonable as they had a half price offer on.  Weather was fabulous (late July)  site had pool, bar and clubhouse onsite chippy, huge circular walks for doggy and lake/wildlife. Sounds great but when we turned into the gate we were shocked.  The reception block was dropping to bits, litter everywhere and grass a foot high with grounds littered and unkempt.

We arrived at the pitch to be greeted with black rubbish bags left from the previous occupiers. Cramped pitches with everyone on top of each other, only just squeezed the motorhome in reverse, noise from club was mental until 2am, could not get in the pool for kids and bigger kids?  There was an amusement arcade inside the cafeteria which was hell on earth.  The racket and din from the loud music went on all day.  To cap it all a couple who had obviously been out on the pop all night came back and started to have a row as he had lost the keys to the van and were having to break in at 3am ish.

The staff were none existent as they only hung around the poolside and bar areas.  Huge commercial waste bins were so full they were spilling out all over the ground right next to large static homes and the pool area, smell was terrible.  So much neglect

In other words is was nightmarish.  We cut our week short as we only managed three nights but sleep deprivation set in and we were both becoming cranky so we headed off home.

I am  so surprised at haven as I thought they were one of the top holiday companies and had expected a little luxury, bigger fool us then.

Glad to be back on the Northumberland coast.
