Not quite as we remembered it but still a good site.

We stayed the weekend after May bank holiday 3 nights early June ( Fri - Mon) in our motorhome along with my parents who stayed in theirs. Having spent weeks trying to get into site at weekend as it’s so busy, I have to say as our first visit to this usual favourite site, this year we were somewhat disappointed. Not with the wardens who were as ever friendly and helpful and we received a warm greeting on arrival as we have so many times before. The standards of cleanliness and repair and upkeep of the site were somewhat of shock. The toilets, showers and washing up areas were clean but could do with a spruce up and lick of paint. The disappointment came from the poor state of the pitches, hard standing pitches which were lacking in hardstanding in places, squeezed into some tight and unusual places, it felt cramped which we have nevertheless experienced before. The grass was in desperate need of cutting, I appreciate it Waac a wet May, however we had three very dry days and in that time saw no grassing cutting, up a hive activity “hovering pathways & the roads”. Tree’s in desperate need of a trim and cutback, as this too made the pitches seem very small. My mother in law had dog faeces oh her pitch that had clearly been there for a number of days and is graded teabags - simply what we expect from th CAMC. Overall standards seemed to have dropped, children charging around on bikes on the roads completely ignoring the bike & scooter policy, at times I was sure there was going to be an accident with a car or motorhome. People cutting through pitches rather than walking around, not something the wardens can do anything about but irritating none the less. Also there was building work being completed on site, and we had hoped this was for new possibly larger fully serviced pitches, but alas no this is for glamping pods...not sure about that...unless we are due another name change Caravan, Motorhome and Glamping Club CMAGC 😂😂 Still a good site and very well located, perfect for a walk into Moreton, great local facilities with restaurants, bars and pubs a good selection of local shops and super markets. A cheese shop to die for. Just a little sad that the frequency of the buses had changed and were running less frequently to both Stow on the wold and Bourton on the water - a sign of the times I’m afraid.
