Leaf collection on a Sunday morning

I have to admit we are not really fans of club sites, preferring 5cls. We don't ever use communal facilities as we have a modern caravan and don't mind fetching water, so I can't really comment on the cleanliness of the toilet block. So anyway we decided a weekend away and didn't mind paying twice as much for half of the space compared to 5cl as the location to Moreton is walkable and we could visit the town for a wander and lunch. Welcome by the wardens was as usual cordial and pleasant. Due to our work we cannot arrive until late Saturday afternoon when most pitches are gone. only about five left and only one not right by the road so we decided to take that. Impossible to reverse our large twin axle on to the pitch (at the end of a cul de sac) due to the annoying habit of the club in planting trees everywhere. I wasn't going to give up so jack-knifed the caravan with an inch to spare between my car and a tree and nearly got the van straight but right on the peg so that would do, and it was a pleasantly placed pitch but inaccessible for those of us who still reverse caravans. Trees also meant no satellite signal so had to use cable booster. Pitches are small so they tell you to park in front of the unit. I HATE looking out onto my car and think that it is not acceptable for the club to do this. As we did not have an awning we managed to park at the side so all was well....until Sunday morning when the noisiest leaf collector in the Cotswolds began sucking up leaves with deafening effect all over the site. We had a fabulous lunch on Sunday and a pleasant walk with our dogs but I think next time we will stay up the road at the 5cl with room to breath and no need for ear defenders. The site is very popular so I don't think we will be missed.

Probably better off elsewhere I reckon. smile
