This is a site we have used on many occasions and now we store our van nearby it will always be one on our choices for a short break.
On first arrival, entering the site office I thought there had been a burglary - nothing at all on the shelves and only some milk in the fridge. Our last visit was in late October and we were met with the same scene, the wardens then told us they had just taken over and had not had time to re stock (I must admit, I was unaware that the wardens stock the shop from their own pockets and hope to make a profit by sales). This may also be the case on this occasion so I will only state this as an observation as I did not have a conversation with the current wardens).
I agree with comments from others ref. state of pitches and ignorant/impatient and maybe incapable drivers running across grass and verges. Many of the pitches are small and hardly big enough for van car and awning. The site has lots of vegetation, trees and bushes and in winter is usually very damp so this was expected on this latest visit - Jan 2020..
The wardens do a great job of keeping the toilet blocks clean and these also seem to be respected by the members.
I do wonder if the new Glamping pods are taking the resource and the finance from the site although again I do not know how these are run/financed so will not make assumptions.
We will continue to use the site but it will not be our first choice in the area until the Club helps the wardens create a top notch site, this will also give them more pride and make their job more enjoyable. I am normally very positive and complimentary but on this occasion I have to be honest and leave an overall negative review.
