Expensive and Not Very Clean AVOID FISH AND CHIPS

We stayed August Bank Holiday so the site was full. The services really were very grubby at times. They need more than one clean a day under pressure. You should not have to search for an acceptable cubicle. As an aside we tried the fish and chips from the on site can. The chips were OK but the fish was old wet and grey. Not at all acceptable. Plus 90 % wet batter. After some grudging comments we got a refund. But the fryer always knows he is serving old fish. This was old.

Don't let one review put you off Pam - just don't go on a Bank Holiday! Nothing wrong with the site itself at quiet times - some pitches are a bit narrow but no real problem. Facilities are absolutely fine at normal times. You can walk into the village easily from the site or along the Monarch's Way to Batsford Arboretum. If you want fish & chips use the very good shop in the village! smile

We have just arrived home from after a bank holiday at a site in the New Forest, and although the staff {with add help} were doing their best to keep on top of the disgusting habits of the "Bank Holiday Crowd" more the unsupervised children, who seem to be allowed by the adults to be "free roaming"it was so much more civilised on site yesterday and this morning,
