Above & Beyond the Call of Duty

Heartfelt thanks to the lovely lady warden who rescued my errant dog, which had escaped, wormed his way into a wired off area chasing rabbits and had become hopelessly entangled in brambles. This kind lady fetched some steps, climbed over the barbed wire fence, and cut my dog free with a pair of scissors. Definitely over and above the call of duty in my book! In fact, the site is great for dogs, with a big enclosed field to run around in, and a lovely 45 minute walk through open fields to Batsford Arboretum and falconry centre - well worth a visit, looking beautiful at this time of year, and very dog friendly, dogs are even allowed in the cafe, where the food is excellent, fresh and full of flavour, if a little pricey. Only here for a couple of days, so didn't have time to explore further afield, but will definitely return, and can recommend it - come while the blossom is still out on the cherry trees all around the site.
