Rally / unmetered CL questions

As prices of sites and CLs increase we are looking for options.  We are not overly keen on rallies with CC as we found them to be too cliquey etc, yet we have enjoyed caravan forum rallies.

As we are on pension our income is restricted somewhat and we don't go out much.  Also as I am disabled walking any distance is out of the question.

We enjoy going into the nearest town and browsing around and perhaps stopping for a drink somewhere before returning to the site.  On site we like to watch Tv for several hours during the day and evening or use the internet while relaxing.  We don't tend to mingle very much as we are wary of other people having been put in a difficult position previously.

We have a 110amp battery with the only means of charging is by connecting up to the vehicle.  If we were to use a site without EHU, how could we get by for a stay of 3 nights?  How could we get by for a longer stay?

We think an investment in solar panels is a waste of money and will take a long time before we break even if you take the cost of the saving using a non EHU site plus the cost of the solar panels.  If we save £4 per night it will probably take us about 2 - 3 years to break even.  Plus would the solar panel be able to charge the battery up enough for several hours TV usage plus lighting, pump etc?

Any suggestions.
