Not all rallies are the same.

I have just returned from a weekend away with the North Yorkshire Centre.

There were two rallies hosted by NYC this weekend.  A war themed rally located at the Eden camp museum, which is a former POW camp, and this tied into the war weekend at Pickering.

There was also a quiet weekend at Ampleforth, near Helmsley, on the Golden Sqaure Caravan Park.

We opted for the quiet weekend near Helmsley.  It was an expensive weekend mind, with being on a commercial site, at £13.90 per night.  But what did we get for our money?

Well the venue was on the caravan parks rally field, located near the entrance of the site, so we were not on the pitches that the usual customers were on.

There was fresh water and grey wates disposal on the field.  Most pitches had EHU.  If you didn't use the EHU it was only £11.40 per night.  But at £2.50 a night for electric I thought that was a bargin compared to how much gas I would use if the weather turned cold.

We also had free access to all the site facilities, so a toilet and shower block was available, 2x childrens play parks, small shop, dog walk etc,. were all just a short walk away on the main site.

Before we went out for the day a notice was posted that there would be bingo and a quiz in the evening for anyone that wanted to join.  We didn't make it to that though.

We spent Saturday in Helmsley which we really like, and we spent most of our time at the bird of prey centre which was a very good day out, and the flying demonstartions were amazing.

On Sunday the weather was awful, but we attended the coffee to say thank you to our hosts, then went for a walk and had some lunch.  There was no pressure to pack up and leave, but we did so after lunch as the weather was not showing any signs of improvement and we had things to do at home.

So not all rallies are the same as this one had EHU and all the facilities of a premium commercial site available.
