Good idea for communication of Rallies?

As most people are now 'Tinternet enabled', how about the idea that if centre support staff have e:mail addresses for members (or make enquiries into obtaining them and have the members permission of course), they could send 'Group' emails inviting people to join the rallies (cheap publicity) and members will know what's happening.
