We are due to go on our 1st rally in August. Do you get confirmation by post or e.mail or do you just turn up and tell them your name ?

Pay your deposit when booking then the balance on arrival. The only time we got confirmation of a booking was when we had been on a reserve list.

We paid in full as requested... £35 weekend fee . I'm sure the marshall when I spoke to her via phone said just turn up but so many things have taken place since I booked up I'm just double checking with others who go on rallies as to whats the norm.

Thanks anyway Davecyn

Different centre's operate different systems.   In terms of payment and deposits.   But with regards to confirmation it is not normal to send anything out for a normal weekend rally.  Just turn up and enjoy

which is the organising centre.

As stated Centres do work differently.

Our Centre confirms bookings to other Centre members but not to our own members.

The normal procedure for most centres is to only send confirmation if a stamped, addressed envelope is included with the booking.

I think that the some of the replies above show how different centres opperate in different ways.  Our centre ask for a stamped addressed envelope with the booking, but hardly ever send out confirmations.  I recon we have envelopes that are upwards of 10 years old because the unused SAE is stuck in the rally envelope and we recycle them.

About 3 years ago we had to cancel a rally at a short notice Friday morning because of the weather.  Out of 50 vans a   bout 12 had included envelopes (including us) it took us literally hours to decipher names and addresses of booking slips and sort out getting refunds to those who hadnt included an SAE, so as a rally organiser please include a SAE even if you think it is pointless because iit is never used.
