Unusable ferry booking

Hello

This is my first time on this forum and I do not know whether it is appropriate to use it to ask my question so forgive me if this is not the right use of the forum.

2 years ago I made and p[aid for a ferry crossing in my MH (up to 7 mars) for my partner and I then of course it got cancelled due to Covid - I was able to rearrange it though and it is due on 31st  July - Portsmouth to Caen - this year.

Sadly however, my partner and I are no longer together and I do not wish to do the trip on my own as it would bring back too many painful memories.

I know  I can't get a refund on it but can it be transferred to someone else if I could find a buyer? And if so, are there any recognised sites where I could advertise the trip for sale - I don't expect to get all the money back, but some part of the £595 I paid for the round trip would be nice

Thank you

Alisdair

Was the booking made through this club, if so give them a call and see what they can suggest.

Maybe you could look at going at another time.

I think you could change the booking (for a fee) into another person's name.

Best give the club or ferry company a call and see what the options are.

Good luck

Alisdair, I understand your feelings , but don’t agree with them. I would use the ticket and go to France, and eat, drink and be merry while you are there. Drink the health of your missing partner every day and say Just look what you are missing. Talk to people on campsites and make new acquaintances rather than staying at home regretting things gone by. Your life deserves to go on. I wish you well.

I agree with Eurotraveller. If you can, go. You'll have to build a new life (I know what that is like and not easy at times) but getting away and exploring new places may be a tonic. Good luck.
