I've heard some disturbing news about access to this site via Dean Lane due to its narrowness.  Unfortunately whichever direction you approach the Site you have to use Dean Lane.  Any advice regarding the route would be helpful.  I usually use Copilot Satnav as its got a caravan towing app.

Hi All,

Thought it might be useful to share the route we take to get to this site via Shepherds Hill NOT involving the M25.  These directions used to be in the handbook and possible on the web page.

As we live in West Sussex in between Horsham and Crawley about 15-20 miles from the site, we often come here for weekends and mini-breaks, so we approach the site from the M23 northbound.  So here goes:

- Follow the M23 Northbound heading towards London/Coulsdon, keeping right and straight ahead when the M23 meets the M25 at junction 8.

- The M23 eventually terminates (Junc 7) and turns into the A23 heading towards London and Coulsdon.

- Keep on the A23 going under a bridge (M25), as you see Starbucks on your right hand on the other side of A23 carriageway keep straight ahead following the A23.

- Stay on the A23 for approximately 2-4 miles going through sets of traffic lights, sections of the road change between single and dual carriageway.

- You will see a Landrover garage (Harwoods) on the your right hand side and soon you will see a roundabout ahead, move across into the right hand lane before the roundabout.

- At the roundabout do a complete u-turn and go back the way you came on the A23 heading southbound now.

- After passing Starbucks on your left this time IGNORE Dean Lane on the left keep ahead but fork right following A23 Redhill, not M23.

- After about 1-1.5 miles you will come to the Shepherd's Hill turning on the left with the International brown caravan Sign, turn left here.

- Follow the road up the hill following the directions from the webpage, at a sharp right hand bend, turn left into Dean Lane (brown caravan sign again) and you will see the site entrance on the right.

This route is for those heading up from the south coast (Sussex) and avoids the M25 and most importantly avoids the very narrow section of Dean Lane near Starbucks which is not suitable for caravans, MHs, or any towing vehicles.
