Can someone help?
Our stereo has broken, hubby says we need to find a 12volt stereo!
I don't want a car type, more like a house type!

Or can we use a 'normal' household 240 volt one?

Has anyone any ideas as to where we could find one?
No need for speakers as these are already in the van!
TIA

Of course you can use a normal 240v stereo  ..... as long as you have either a mains (EHU) connection;or you have an inverter to run it off your 12v battery.

(I don't blame you not wanting a 'car radio' .... they are horrendously power hungry and most seem to have more gimmick than useful function).

you say there are already speakers in the van, how are you planning on using these speakers with your 'normal' house hold radio? A car radio would just be a direct replacement.

What are you currently using? If it is a car radio type, which most caravans are fitted with, remove it, take it to Halfords and get a replacement.

Failing that any radio you can purchase in the shops will work but most will be 240 volt.

You could use Google to search for 12 volt radios but i think that your options will be severely limited.

Another option would be a battery powered portable radio with rechargeable batteries.
