Nestled on the shores of Loch Naver with a direct view of Ben Klibreck, Altnaharra Club Campsite in Lairg is perfect for those wanting to get away from it all - the nearest shops are 20 miles away. Anglers, walkers and birdwatchers will love the unspoilt natural wonders on offer in and around the campsite.
Families will have more than enough outdoor attractions to make their holiday at Altnaharra Club Campsite memorable. Fly fish for free from the shore; attempt to spot over 70 different species of birds and admire the red deer roaming in the wild. Those staying on site now have non-motorised boating rights on Lake Naver (conditions apply), ideal for those with small rowing boats and dinghies. Walks range from leisurely ambles across gentle hills such as nearby Ben Loyal, to areas like Munros, where explorations in places like Ben Klibreck and Ben Hope make for a good challenge. The spectacular NC500 route is just a short drive from the campsite. Also within easy reach, a visit to Cape Wrath by ferry and minibus to see Scotland's most north westerly point, its spectacular lighthouse and the highest sea cliff on the British mainland at Clo Mor (900 feet) will take your breath away.
Please note: This site does not have a toilet block. Altnaharra is served by a private water supply and as such we strongly advise all site guests to boil any water drawn from site before use and to bring an adequate supply of bottled or tanked water. Guests should refrain from filling caravan/motorhome tanks at the site for the time being. Reception at this site may close earlier than 8pm and staff may not be available to greet you. If this is the case, don’t worry, you can still arrive on site until 8pm. We will simply contact you on your day of arrival with details of how to check-in. Please ensure your contact details are up to date on your Membership profile.
To contact the campsite directly, please call 01549 411226.

Having backpacked and bike-pack across the Northern Highlands decades ago, and now in my '70's it was simply marvellous to pitch up with the wild all around. Ben Kilbreck (962m) across Loch Naver, and Hill 262 (it's not got a name) behind the site and vegetation and rocks of all... Show more
