The site is great for dog owners, with plenty of open space and woodland, and is a great holiday location for everyone in the family. You have a choice of pitches: those grouped in open areas and surrounded by statuesque mature trees or others located in charming shady glades.

The nearby village of Markinch is only steps away and offers grocery shops, a post office, restaurants, bars and cafes, most of which offer free WIFI and are dog friendly.

The stunning beaches of Elie, Leven and St Monans are just a short drive away, as well as as award winning fish and chips shop in Anstruther. The beautiful Falkland Palace and gardens are also only 5.5 miles from site and well worth a visit.

The railway station, just 15 minutes’ walk from the site, provides direct links to Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth. Why not take a day trip to Edinburgh, just an hours’ train ride away that crosses the spectacular Forth Bridge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The bus also stops directly outside the site making access to the local area easy.

For a more active way to spend the day visit Glenrothes and Kirkaldy sporting facilities or go swimming, ten pin bowling, ice skating, go carting or horse riding (all within five miles of the site). There is also a golf club in Balbirnie Park and a further 30 courses in Fife including the famous St Andrews course. The Balbirnie Park Club Site enjoys the annual Highland games for Markinch & Glenrothes located just opposite in the John Dixon Park, every first weekend in June. Enjoy traditional bagpipes, dancing, tug of war and caber throwing.

Absolutely super site and so dog friendly

Balbirnie Park Club Campsite
Ideally suited for exploring Fife. This lovely, easily found and easily accessible site was a joy to stay in. We had pitch 82 down the far end of the site where we had both sunshine and shade on a grass pitch which despite all the recent rain had drained well.. Lots of room on rhis spacious and well set out site amongst trees. We were struck by how peaceful it was. On site facilities were very clean and always looked well maintained. The staff were extremely nice and we noted always continuously working on different things to beautify the site. A huge plus is that the site is in a corner of the enormous Balbirnie estate which provides up to 400 acres of lovely dig walking. We had five extremely pleasant nights there and would strongly recommend it to other carsvsnners.

Better than expected

Balbirnie Park Club Campsite
Really enjoyed our 2 night stay and would definitely consider returning for longer. The key to this site is choosing your pitch, I wouldn’t want to be on the pitches adjacent to the residential properties but the pitch we had, higher up near the woodland was perfect. Major plus for this site are the friendly wardens who keep absolutely spotless facilities. The price of pitches here is also a bonus, I wish all Club sites were as reasonably priced.

1st caravan trip of the year

Balbirnie Park Club Campsite
I booked this site for 3 nights at the end of May. It's lovely and quiet among the trees. Small so very easy to navigate. I had a nice welcome from the warden when I arrived. Facilities were spotless. Showers with hot water. Very helpful to keep it that way when other campers left it nice and tidy after use. I had a mixed weather during my stay. From rain to sun and thunderstorm and lightning, but this is Scotland. True is that the Club could invest in a better draining system to help the wardens to keep the pitches nice and dry. The pitch beside mine was flooded and the water was outside my caravan. My wellies were a godsend. I couldn't put my porch awning up unfortunately. This is why I give 4 out of 5 for overall rating. Plenty walks in the park. Grocery shops were just few minutes away from the campsite. Great solo trip.

Wonderful, restful week.

Balbirnie Park Club Campsite
We booked our small caravan and awning onto a grass pitch for a week and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The two grassed areas back onto the Balbirnie park, which is full of bird life and the pitches not overhung by trees. The campsite is just 15 mins drive from the coast and there is an easy walk into Markinch for provisions. The site is kept clean and neat with constant supervision. The wardens are friendly and very helpful, we would highly recommend the site for others exploring Fife.

First Break to Scotland

Balbirnie Park Club Campsite
Began stay on April 13 2024 for 5 days. Site pleasant and well tended by wardens Andy & Rachael. They always appeared to be out on the site dealing with upkeep and nurturing the floral beds and displays. Despite the excessive April showers, the site was kept tidy and well organised. Good location for touring Fife and neighbouring areas. Lots of suggestions for holidaying activities available in the information room. To support Rachael and Andy in their concerted efforts, the club need to invest some monies to fully refurbish the tired pitches to ensure good pitch and surrounding surfaces drainage. Once this is done, the popularity of the site could increase tenfold! May return in the future.
