For those that choose to look further afield, the towering Galtee slopes and their five corrie lakes are just waiting to be explored.

The secluded and beautiful Glen of Aherlow lies between the dramatic Galtee Mountains, Ireland's highest inland mountain range, and the wooded slopes of Slievenamuck on the edge of the Golden Vale. Turn left off N24 (Dublin - Cahir/Tipperary) in Bansha at O'Heney's PH onto R663 (Glen of Aherlow); at end of speed limit sign keep right; in 5m at Coach Road Inn, Newtown continue for 300yds. Site on right in 300yds. NOTE: Members visiting Ireland should be aware that the toll section of the M50 Dublin ring road between Junction 6 and Junction 7 is now barrier free. Detection is by number plate recognition. Unregistered users must pay by 20:00 on the following day by visiting any shop or post office displaying the Payzone symbol.
