One of our many caravan and motorhome sites in North Yorkshire, the Knaresborough Club Campsite is set in Lower Nidderdale and serves as a perfect gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and the many attractions of the North of England. The site is surrounded by mature trees and hedges and on fine days it is sunny yet well sheltered.

The historic market town of Knaresborough is within easy access of Knaresborough Club Campsite and boasts a nostalgic town crier, ancient walkways, atmospheric castle ruins, cobbled alleys and secret passages that lead to picturesque tea rooms, delightful restaurants and quaint traditional pubs.

The central market is home to the weekly Wednesday market which is still famous for its locally prepared lavender water. Summer activities include the annual Bed Race in June and Knaresborough Festival in August. This campsite has it all: boating on the River Nidd, scenic walks, excellent dog walk nearby, tennis and pitch 'n' putt - all in all a family destination likely to prove a winner throughout the season. Don't miss beautiful Ripley Castle, the old Court House Museum, magical Mother Shipton's Cave and Petrifying Well.

Throughout the year, you can take advantage of the Wanderer Cafe Bar on site, and the children can burn off their energy at the site's play area.

Excellent service

Knaresborough Club Campsite
Excellent service on checking in, Friendly staff who were very helpful. The pitch was super, the only problem was that people would keep cutting through the gap in the hedge where the electricity bollard is, to get to the toilet block. One chap even tripped over our cable, I found it very annoying, my dogs really didn’t like it. Perhaps notices about not cutting through could be displayed. The facilities were clean. The Wanderer bar was very handy. Overall a lovely quiet site.

I won't be booking a fully serviced pitch again.

Knaresborough Club Campsite
We recently stayed on a fully serviced pitch, everything worked well but we had a couple of issues. We were on the inner ring of the fully serviced pitch oval and people were walking through the gap between our outfit and the adjacent outfit, including a warden, on numerous occasions. I should have challenged the warden and I wish I had now. We were also about 6 feet from the chemical disposal point and one considerate caravaner was clattering the spout of his cassette on the plastic funnel of the CDP, ( I know we've all done it), at 0650 hours on a Sunday morning, thanks mate. You pay top money for a fully serviced pitch and you find yourself in an area including the dog walk, play area and you could be about 6 feet from the CDP. I should have looked at the site map online, and I definitely will in the future. On a very positive note the site was clean, tidy and well maintained. There is a little bit of road noise, mainly motorbikes early morning and evening when the ambient noise is quiet, but is not too intrusive. We had a good meal at the Guy Fawkes Inn in Scotton. I will stay again but the fully serviced pitches in my opinion are not worth the extra money and I won't be booking one again.

A gateway to the lovely town of Knaresborough

Knaresborough Club Campsite
Just back from a 3 day stay at the Knaresborough site and thoroughly enjoyed it. The park was emaculate and really well looked after. All the amenities were spot on and the bar was a very welcome place after a days walking. The site is very convenient for visiting Knaresborough town and all its got to offer. Will no doubt be returning for another visit at some time.

Lovely stay at Knaresborough

Knaresborough Club Campsite
We received a very warm welcome from the warden and it was a quick process to choose our pitch. This is a lovely site with large pitches. It is peaceful and well looked after. There are two toilet blocks, one newer one attached to the cafe/bar and a larger, older one further on into the site. The older block is showing its age and could do with some refurbishment but it was very clean. It is good that they are not both cleaned at the same time. We did use the bar and it was nice to sit outside in the sunshine but the food menu is quite limited. It is a short walk to the nearest pub, The Guy Fawkes Arms, in Scotton which was very nice and serves good food. We enjoyed walking along the River Nidd into Knaresborough - it is a very pleasant walk but beware there are a few inclines to navigate. We were hoping to be able to cycle into Knaresborough but the main road just outside the site was far too busy. The bus stop is literally right outside the site and we used the service to go into Knaresborough and then catch a train to Harrogate. Harrogate is a lovely place with some great shops and we enjoyed a lovely meal at La Feria, a Spanish tapas restaurant. Trains are very frequent to Harrogate and Leeds. All in all we we enjoyed our long weekend at this site.

Excellent Easter Break

Knaresborough Club Campsite
A lovely Easter break at this spotlessly clean and tidy site. Pitches are an excellent size and well laid out. Great site to explore the surrounding area with very good transport links if you don’t want to use your car or take out your Motorhome. Efficient and pleasant welcome on arrival, we plan to visit again soon.
