Enjoy a safari experience at nearby Port Lympne Zoo - you can sometimes hear the lions and monkeys from the site! East Kent has loads of attractions to keep the whole family happy, beginning with the attractive village of nearby Hythe. The charming town of Rye with its cobbled streets is nearby, and coastal town of Hastings is about an hour's drive from the site. Medieval Dover Castle is also well worth a visit. Good pubs and lovely local walks can be found within a mile of this Kent touring and camping site.
The caravan site also puts you within easy reach of charming channel ports along the coast as well as the Channel Tunnel for those who fancy popping over to France for the day. Further inland, you can discover the wonders of The Garden of England - Kent is famous for its natural beauty.
The site has a dedicated 22kW electric vehicle (EV) charging station in the car park (fee applicable).

Directions
Please only use these recommended directions for the final approach and not sat nav, due to very steep unsuitable roads for towing. Leave the M20 at junction 11 and follow signposts to Hythe. At the first roundabout turn right. In 1 mile turn left onto the A261 (signposted Hythe, Dymchurch). At the foot of the hill on entering Hythe keep right. In 90 metres at the second set of traffic lights turn right onto the A259 (signposted Dymchurch, Hastings). In 2 miles (just past Quarry) turn right into Botolphs Bridge Road (signposted West Hythe, Port Lympne Zoo). In 1 mile at Botolphs Bridge Inn turn left into Lower Wall Road. The Site is on the left in 0.75 miles.

POOR STANDARDS AND POOR FACILITIES
Daleacres Club Campsite
First the good point is that this site is in a fantastic location surrounded by beautiful countryside.
Now the bad points are the washing machines are both out of use and have been for a long time, the games room is now closed and shows no sign of ever reopening, the childrens playground now has the main piece of equipment boarded off and out of use and the ground has a covering of pigeon poo, the grass is left very long and is not pleasant when on a grass pitch on wet mornings, what was once lovely planters are falling apart and empty, weeds are taking over the hardstanding pitches, this seems to be a meeting point for noisy mass gatherings and the Yurts generate a lot of noise ,it seems to be if you want to stay here you have to be accompanied by several barking dogs at all hours of the day and night.

Decline in standards
Daleacres Club Campsite
Having visited this site many times over our years of caravanning I can only say I feel it has declined in its standards.
I feel this is partly due to the club and its maintenance programme as well as the move to more environmental compliances.
The new system of a centralised waste point is OK but while there these large wheelie bins were smelling and I would suggest not very hygienic.
During our recent stay we wanted to use the washing machines but found they were out of order something we only noted on our arrival despite these being shown as available on the site facilities page,also reading a previous review while onsite it appears these machines have been out of service for sometime.
Shower head in the mobility facility was broken which we reported. I would have thought this would be picked up during cleaning.
The footpath leading into the facilities block is still very uneven with 2 manhole covers protruding,something we mentioned the year before last year but still no action taken.
Potholes are significant at the entrance as you are on site.
Overall I feel this site needs an update particularly when you see the money club that being is investing in other sites.
Too many dogs, and what about the laundry?
Daleacres Club Campsite
On way home from Dover ferry, stayed a couple of nights to visit friends in Hythe. Yes, you can cycle or walk into Hythe along the Royal Military Canal (about 4 miles), though you need instructions on finding the canal path from the campsite - a ride of a mile along narrow lanes. No free info or maps of Hythe or the locality were available at camp reception, just booklets to buy. Not even a map on the info room wall.
Games Room closed, so more children cycling and running round the site.
And is it compulsory to have at least two dogs to guard your caravan and bark loudly at passers-by?
Like others, I was told that both washing machines were Out of Order, that there was nowhere to hang hand-washing, and even that I should go to the launderette in Hythe! BUT when I complained to a different warden, she actually showed me how to use one of the washing machines, which just had a faulty switch, and it worked perfectly. The drier also works. She said the staff 'got fed up' of people coming to the office about the switch, so they turned it off. Previous reviews show this has been a long-standing problem. Not good enough - and I don't like being lied to.
Disappointed
Daleacres Club Campsite
Disappointed that standards are not as good as they used to be! The two washing machines haven't been working since the site opened, the games room has been closed for a long time but is still listed under site facilities. Vegetation etc is over grown, the bins have been removed apart from some large wheelie bins near the office. It appears that current management are only interested in profits and not members.
In addition on sites people are leaving later than mid day causing issues on narrow entrance roads, many dogs on long leads or not tied up at all, and people not obeying the speed limit.
Over recent years things have certainly gone downhill, when I first started with caravan club almost 30 years ago people obeyed the rules the sites were pristine and facilities were kept to a good standard, how times change, very sad.
I am in no way criticising the wardens, they are just doing what they are told and are very helpful.
I haven't found the live chat helpful it is obviously AI and doesn't understand!!
Lovely for us new to caravanning
Daleacres Club Campsite
Easy to find and good location for us oaps exploring in the car. we had motorhomes for years but sold up when so many sites were unnavailable during lockdown, then we “inherited” our precious young dog so we need an easy way to take him exploring with us & decided to try a touring caravan & Daleacres was recommended by friends for our first go at it. Lovely staff & friendly campers, the site was spacious and clean with a safe field for dogs to run & play. Luckily We only stayed one night (a few things to sort on our unit) as the the washing machines are out of order & I tried many times but could not get wi-fi.
It was lovely to hear the train whistles and we found a great Thai takeaway at The Hope Inn, Hythe plus theres an Aldis,caravan & motorhome repairs and sales not far away on the main road . We will be back for longer but will check the site wifi & washing machines work befor booking for more than 3-4 nights.
