Why stay here ...

OFFERS*: 10% OFF Autumn Getaways | Kids for £1 (aged 5-17) | Under 5s stay free | £5 refundable deposit

Nestled within an attractive pine plantation, Carsington Water Club Campsite in Ashbourne is beautifully landscaped, with pitches in open clearings separated by trees. This gives the Derbyshire campsite residents privacy and quiet which many appreciate during the busy summer months. Improvements to the toilet block and facilities, including a new drying room, were undertaken in recent years.

Carsington Reservoir, a major attraction in the area, is conveniently adjacent to the Carsington Water Club Campsite. A mere 15 minutes walk will bring you to its great selection of leisure facilities including fishing, sailing, windsurfing and a children's playground. The campsite is also an excellent base for walkers and cyclists wishing to explore the beautiful scenery of Dovedale and the surrounding countryside. The local villages, all with excellent pubs and restaurants offering hearty food, are within two to three miles. As you travel around the region exploring, look out for examples of Derbyshire's home grown art - "Well Dressing" - which happens in many villages from May to September.

Saving pitches

Had a lovely time at this site but we think this new rule that lets people save a pitch next to their own is very unfair. We stay on service pitches and their are only 14 at Carsington water . There are only 5 of the service pitches... Show more

Lovely, quiet site among the trees

One of the nicest sites we’ve stayed at. Almost full when we were there, but still really quiet among the trees. Lots of lovely birdsong. Not sure what else is nearby, but we enjoyed walking and cycling round and kayaking on Carsington Water, which is right next door.

Lovely Quiet Site

A lovely quiet site in amongst the pine trees, with good facilities as in the norm for Club sites, although perhaps slightly ageing, with 2 breakdowns for the heating system during our stay. Very welcoming wardens and all 4 were extremely helpful and engaging. An easy walk to Carsington Water/resevoir... Show more
