View and BookWe’re sorry to say that the Club has had to make the difficult decision to close Nunnykirk Club Campsite at the end of the 2024 season. We do recognise that for those members who have stayed at our site, it will be a disappointment. Sadly, not enough members have stayed at Nunnykirk over the years to sustainably enable us to keep the campsite open.
We know that the Club is committed to providing Club campsites and pitches in locations that are popular with the wider membership, with approximately 180,000 more pitch nights available in 2024 than there were in 2018 across the network.
Thank you to those of you who have stayed with us. We know there is another perfect pitch just waiting for you, to help you find some inspiration, here are some popular alternative Club campsites just a short distance away which we hope you will try:
River Breamish Club Campsite (open 15 Mar-4 Nov) - 19 miles, 31 minutes by road
Old Hartley Club Campsite (open 5 Jul-4 Nov) - 32 miles, 50 minutes by road
Durham Grange Club Campsite (open 15 Mar-4 Nov) - 42 miles, 1 hour by road
In addition, there are a number of Certificated Locations within the vicinity, that continue to offer picturesque solitude away from the crowds that are exclusively for our members.

This was our first visit but unlikely we'll be back. Was limited on choice of pitches as a lot of vans pitched on seasonal pitches, seemed like almost half. Also as we were a camper the wardens asked us not to pitch in field 1 in case we got bogged... Show more

Friendly, helpful staff, lovely quiet location, spacious pitches and several conveniently located service points. Bonus - All pitches are grass, yeah :) (why would I want to pitch on stones and gravel?). All areas are well maintained, and there are lots of shrubs and trees, which attract a variety... Show more

Peaceful site with no facilities Ideal for visiting Cragside, Wallington and Fontburn reservoir Nothing for children on site For us we found the choice of pitches was quite limited as 50% of them are taken up with seasonal vans many with long grass growing round them making it look very... This site is in a quiet and idyllic location. It is in a beautiful setting bounded by trees and streams. There is no toilet or washing facilities but there is a very good walk adjacent to the site. We had a seasonal pitch for 2023 and we met some very... Show more

Quite, pretty site surrounded by trees. As advertised, there are no toilet facilities, but it is clean, well maintained with plenty of waste disposal points. I was pitched at the far end of the field from the entrance and excluding the odd motorbike there was no road noise.... Show more

Lovely site, friendly site managers, tv reception good (no need to extend aerial) mobile signal good, mobile Wi-Fi good. We returned to Nunnykirk after 25 years away and it hasn’t changed other than all pitches now have EHU. If you are looking for a quiet site with lots of walking and cycling... Show more

This is an amazing site for peace and quiet. The atmosphere of the site is second to none and just what I needed. The wardens are there for any little thing you may need. The site is spotless and really couldn't be better.

I stayed here in July 2022 for the first time. I love these minimum facilities sites as I use my own on board facilities anyway and the saving is substantial. The site is beautifully kept and well laid out. The location is superb, a very quiet area with places to... Show more
