Grafham Water Club Campsite is a peaceful, six acre oasis where you can relax and unwind. Located a mere 0.5 mile west of picturesque Grafham village in Huntingdon, the caravan park is ideal those who enjoy a slow wander in charming settings. It is also a short walk to Grafham Water, popular as an international centre for trout fishing, windsurfing and major sailing events.
Boasting green, level pitches, Grafham Water Club Campsite also has at its centre a 350-year old cottage, once owned by the Oliver Cromwell family. Part of the moat that surrounded the estate still exists, providing an excellent haven for local wildlife, especially our family of ducks. For those who like some energetic fun, cycling, horse riding, tennis, golf and carting are just some of the activities near the caravan site to keep you entertained. For those interested in history, the nearby Imperial War Museum, Duxford Air Museum, is well worth a visit.
There is now a community run village shop in Grafham selling essentials and groceries.

My wife and I stayed here a week in our VW Campervan and awning. It’s quite a compact site. The pitches are very close to each other. I opted for a pitch just to the left of the main drive in, which had trees to the rear and was fine. The site is quite a sun trap and sheltered from the wind. Nice wardens and clean shower block facilities like any caravan club site.
No problem with mobile phone reception,(Tesco and o2) so didn’t really need the wi-fi. I did try the free club Wi-Fi and was ok, except you had to keep refreshing it (I much prefer the completely free Wi-Fi offered by the Friendly Club)
Location wise, the site is pretty much in the middle of nowhere and very peaceful. Grafham water, reservoir is about a 15 min walk away, very nice. You can walk round it in about 3 hours. We did it 3 times over the course of the week. Not much else to do really, unless you are prepared to walk for miles or take your vehicle out. We drove to Whipsnade zoo one day, about an hours drive away. We also waked to the town of Huntingdon which is a two hour walk, fine if the weather is good.
The site shop has the basics only, so come well prepared. There is some basic shops scattered around but you will pay the premium. Theres a little community pub and shop about 20 mins away. Further afield, on the other side of the reservoir, there is a Wheatsheaf serving a full menu with beer garden, there’s also a village Post Office shop in this location
A pizza van shows up on site occasionally ,very nice and at a reasonable price. If you have children, please note the little on-site play area is closed, needs attention, I thought was a bit disappointing.
Generally though, a nice site and the only thing preventing us from returning is that we’ve done it
