Situated high above Exeter at the top of Haldon Hill, Exeter Racecourse Club Campsite in Devon is attractively surrounded by bright heather and gorse moorland. The location of the campsite allows for superb views of the rolling countryside and an unparalleled feeling of space and calm.
For many, the first stop on their visit to the area will be historic Exeter and its Cathedral Close, found at the very heart of the city. Excursions here offer the opportunity not only to absorb this famously historic site but also to indulge in a little shopping as well as a wide choice of restaurants. Visitors to the Exeter Racecourse Club Campsite seeking the best views Dartmoor has to offer will be delighted with a stroll up Haytor and Canonteign Falls, the highest in all of England. Also nearby is Haldon Forest Park with a range of walking, cycling and mountain bike trails as well as a Go Ape course for the adventurous. The campsite also gives you easy access to scenic walks along the River Exe to the Quay. A car boot sale is held down at the racecourse every Sunday, so head down for a weekend bargain.
Even though the site is often used as a quick stop over, many members often enjoy it so much, they extend their bookings and take in the excitement of the stay for longer!

We had booked in here for 1 night before a ferry crossing in Plymouth. We originally thought we would get there by 3 to 4 o’clock but met horrendous flooding conditions on the 250 mile journey. This held us up and we explained this to the warden when she rang.... Show more

Recently spent 6 nights here. I’m surprised at the negative reviews this site has on the CAMC website. We enjoy staying here. The facilities are not up to the usual CAMC standard but we feel the price reflects this. Shower block is very old but kept spotlessly clean with plenty... Show more

What can I say thats good about it, firstly the staff are very friendly and the facilities are spotlessly clean. Other than that the entire place wants bull dozing and starting again. The roads, once gravel, are now nothing more than mud and potholes with a sprinkling... Show more

Overnight stopover 25/6 March 2024. Frankly, unless you are a racing enthusiast, stopovers are surely the only reason to stay here. We arrived halfway through a race in the pouring rain. The booking info from the Club is copious but failed to note that this was a race day. There... Show more
