Stunning views!

Heatherbrae
The CL was easy to find and well set back from the road so very quiet and peaceful with stunning views. We never saw the owners during our 2 night stay but rang them when we arrived to find out where to park up. She was helpful on the phone and explained where things were but some better signage on site would be helpful as signs on the drinking water tap and tap for waste disposal were almost impossible to find and could easily be muddled up. There was one toilet and one shower, functional but really past their best. There was EHU but we didn't need to use it. The site is very sloped so ramps are needed. It is a really beautiful spot and we will definitely return again.

Lovely site

Follow the directions on the site and it’s easy to find. Don’t use the map tag. Lovely quiet site, overlooking Oxwich Bay. Shower and toilet for camping use, very welcoming owners. Easy access to beaches, and walks on the hills behind. Definitely worth visiting.

Poor value.

Huge difficulty finding this site! Clearer directions needed. A What3Words location would help. A hedge covering the CL site sign making our arrival even harder. The owner did clear the hedge over the sign after we & the other guest on site mentioned this. The whole CL needs signage to help you find the field, each pitch, the toilet block, fresh water & Elsan point. Once parked, super views across the bay & a very peaceful area. We enjoyed a great walk to Oxwich Bay through Nicholaston Nature Reserve. We felt that, currently the quality of the facilities on this site are poor in comparison to other £23 a night CL sites we have visited. When the owners have finished renovating their house on site & if they turn their attention to renovating the toilet & shower block, this could be an amazing CL. During our stay, the toilet/shower block was accessed only past hazardous building materials. Had to ask the other guest on site where to find it! Neither are very clean including full waste bins. But at least hot water in the shower. Although none in the toilet. Blocks needed.

Lovely views but rather basic for the price

Heatherbrae
Well kept field with plenty of space for 5 outfits. Chocks needed as all slope to some degree but additional material provided to assist. Shared the field with some (fenced in) goats who were v friendly and entertaining. Views are amazing and I think this is the main selling point. Also good access to oxwich bay and many other beaches. Good hook up although 1 of the pitches does require a v long lead it seems. Downside was the v basic 1x toilet with only cold water tap and 1 shower which had seen better days although did provide hot water. 1 drinking water tap at the top of the field. No info board. There were recycling bins / soap / toilet roll / chemical disposal point (man hole cover). For £22 a night I think there should be a hot tap to wash your hands after using the toilet facilities.

Peaceful CL with Stunning View

Heatherbrae

Stayed on this CL for a long weekend in our small caravan and it wasn't long enough!! We were blessed with fantastic weather and the view from the pitch was stunning looking to Oxwich Bay and across the Bristol Channel to England. The site is up a short driveway, so you are away from the road which means it's wonderfully peaceful. There is a toilet and shower on site, but we have on board facilities so didn't use them, but they looked clean and spacious. The site is a large grass field on a slope. It's the first time I've had to raise the jockey wheel on our van to level it. But thanks to the 'useful information' and previous reviews I was prepared with some wood and levelling blocks, so all was well. The chemical disposal is very basic, but it is fenced off. Very friendly owners. Lovely to chat with Alan and Angela when they visited to feed the goats, who are delightful. Will definitely be back 😊
