The Big Shoot - Brecon, Powys
Enjoy the hilariously fun and competitive thrills that a Clay Pigeon Shooting provides no matter your experience.
View and BookAppleton CL is located at the foot of the black mountains just outside the small village of Tretower and 4 miles from the quaint town of Crickhowell. The village of Tretower has an ancient monument, Tretower Court and Castle that is open 6 days a week to the public and this year opened a cafe and restaurant.
The Certified Location is south facing complemented with panoramic views that never tire and change gracefully with each season. The site is well screened from the road to allow privacy and some peace to enjoy.
There are ample bridleways and lanes to stroll and enjoy within the locality if you please. For those more avid walkers there is the peak of Pen Y Fan to conquer just outside the bustling market town of Brecon, which is only a stone’s throw away,.
Appleton is a small working farm with a difference so don't be surprised to see a white face of one of our nosey hereford cattle inquisitively watching you enjoy your stay.
We are fortunate to have a meandering tributary to the river Usk where you may be lucky enough to see the odd kingfisher or two which we have tried hard to conserve within our many environmental projects.
We hope you like the sound of the Appleton experience and look forward to welcoming you this coming season to enjoy a little slice of welsh paradise.

We booked for 5 nights, but ending up staying for 12! Situated on a 'A' road, intermittantly busy during the day, but did not impact us at night at all. We loved the endless treks up into the hills and exploring near and far by car (highly recommend a car). We... Show more
