View and BookThe natural landscape of this location means you'll be surrounded by views and nature at its finest.
Our site is a level, luscious green site, surrounded by hedges and mature trees, located next to the River Usk.
Visitors to the site are treated to some majestic views of Table Mountain, the Sugarloft, Llangattock Escarpment on the edge of Mynydd Llangatwg and Black Mountains. In the next field to the site the River Usk (where it is said that in 1929 Dr Edward Bach of Bach Remedies found his first flower essence 'Mimulus' growing to perfection along the river bank) and the River Grwyney join at the edge of the field which is where the salmon exist the Grwyney for the world renown salmon leap. Visitors to our site can walk down to the river over our private field to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of a private river bank where it is only for the visitors to enjoy.
We are within walking distance of the local pub, bus stop and the historic market town of Crickhowell (which won Great British High Street Awards 2018) and has been voted the best town to live in the United Kingdom. It also has a very impressive historic bridge, castle, numerous shops, cafes, pubs with good restaurants, a library and a visitor centre with lots of useful information. Just 3 miles up the road you will find the medieval Tretower Court definitely worth a visit.
On the south side of Crickhowell further along there is Abergavenny which with its ancient castle being a particular highlight and a food festival that takes place every year in September, it also has great shopping an excellent market on a Tuesday, library, theatre, soft play area and a bus and train station.
Further afield over the beautiful Mynydd Llangatwyg you can access Llangattwg Escarpment with lovely walks along the limestone cliffs and access to caves and old quarries with amazing views. Further over the mountain you will find Blaenavon World Heritage Centre.
Walks, whether guided or unguided (the Brecon Beacons National Park produces a useful list) prove rewarding with views for miles around. Some hill walks can be done from the site. There is also an interesting circular walk around Crickhowell (details from the Crickhowell TIC).
Our site is dog friendly and dogs can be walked in the adjoining field. A games room is located at the bottom of the field adjacent to the CL, exclusively for the use of CL guests. This room includes a pool table, football table, table tennis and a seating area. (Please note that the games room is currently not available for use).
