Not for us.

The Three Oaks
Good and bad: Starting with the positives, there’s a small building (ex -piggery) with a loo, shower, and coin operated washing machine. The electrics there are good and there’s an automatic night light as you approach. The Wi-Fi is a great plus point. Negatives include the fact that the listing of ‘hardstanding’ is a little optimistic. Basically it’s just another muddy field, with an access track and a couple of areas that are compacted hardcore recovered with grass. Despite best efforts our shoes were not appropriate, and Wellington boots were needed, which I wouldn’t normally expect when specifically requesting a solid place to pitch. The TV reception may be reasonable with a decent aerial and booster, but we found it appalling, and wondered if this was the reason for the unusual inclusion of the WiFi. We would have stayed for at least 10 days, but had to leave after just one, disappointed, and feeling let down. The whole area could do with some TLC; it wouldn’t take much effort or expense to screen the unsightly bins, or add a few planters. The entrance is uninviting to say the least. Not recommended, and would not return.

Note sure I would stay again

The Three Oaks
1 night stay. Site not easy to find as sign obscured. Although this is a a CL there are 2 other larger fields next door and when we stayed there had obviously been a rally as several rubbish bins were overflowing. Bins on the CL were also overflowing and not clearly signed re recycling. No one to welcome us but not a problem but we had to go looking for the owner to pay. The cost was £20 and not £14 as on SFS. That said, shower facilities nice and clean with plenty of hot water.

Great site and Owner!

The Three Oaks
A stay with Selwyn is a treat. Not only is he Pembrokeshire's best cricketer (not independently verified!), he is also Pembrokeshire's most entertaining caravan site owner (also not independently verified!). His quirky toilet and shower suite is worth a visit on its own. We followed Selwyn's tips on places to visit in the area (and one after we moved on St Davids) and had a great time. Nearby is Carew Castle and Mill which is well worth a visit and a very pleasant walk along the footpaths to get there. Further afield but another great walk is Lawrenny Quay with the Quayside Cafe recommended by Selwyn and thoroughly enjoyed by ourselves for a delicious lunch.

Disappointing

The Three Oaks
Difficult to find the site, signs either obscured or non existent. Very saddened to see overflowing rubbish and bottles in the refuse area. We will not be returning.

Absolutely Perfect!

The Three Oaks
We have tried to get to The three oaks for the last three years, obviously we couldn't travel but we've spoken with Selwyn throughout, I must say it was worth the wait,We had a gem of a journey down and when we arrived we pitched up and settled in, the next day I finally met Selwyn and again, I must say it was my pleasure, some say that he is very knowledgeable about the local area, I'd say he's immensely proud of the local area, and why not....its simply stunning I'm 51 and its taken me all my life to get down there, the site was very spacious, very peaceful, and as everyone else, has the greatest quirkiest shower and toilet block I've ever seen! Great location for touring Pembrokeshire and beyond, Pembroke Dock has several large supermarkets as does Tenby, however we used the local shops in Pembroke and Mott the butchers in the main street is a peach! Some great walks and the local castle at sunset is an absolute must, used the Cresselley Arms several times, again another stunning location is this most wonderful part of the world Thanks so so much Selwyn, We really loved our stay and will definitely be back..... One other thing, Selwyn asked me to mention how good looking he is for his age...... See you again!!!!!
