Good CL with Beautiful Views

Twyn Shinydd
Mark kindly phoned us the day before our arrival to advise us on pitching as the ground was still soft, however as it turned out we were able to pitch the caravan easily. The last mile to the CL is narrow but with a few passing places, care is needed as surprisingly there is quite a bit of traffic at certain times of the day. Site entrance is fine and it's possible to pull off the road to open the gate, exiting does need care though. Pitches are two strips of paving set into the grass, and we went nose in to make the most of the lovely views. Water, cdp and recycling all good and labelled, even food waste recycling. Our pitch was level and we didn't need blocks or ramps. The village has a pub, although opening times seemed to vary, there is also a shop and takeaway Indian/chippy which was very good. The area is lovely and we found plenty to do, NT Tredegar is a short easy drive and Abergavenny has lots of shops, cafes and supermarkets together with two lovely parks. We also visited 2 of the 3 castles in the area. Dog owners need to be aware that there is not a pavement and we found it a bit scary walking the dog along the road. The village does however have an enclosed dog area which we used, but we did take the car to get there. Mark came down to check everything okay and he also sells eggs which were very good. Overall a good CL and one we will return to.

Great site and lovely owners

Twyn Shinydd
Stayed for one night in March. A good value site with great views towards Abergavenny. The owners were the best owners of a CL site that we've met so far in our 3 years of membership - friendly, helpful and providing practical help when needed. There is some road noise but nothing to disturb a good night's sleep.

Can’t fault this lovely little site

Twyn Shinydd
I had a 1 night stop over at this great little CL. Mike was welcome in and helpful, and the site was well kept, neatly presented waste and water areas, and lovely views. I only stayed for the evening so can’t comment on the wider area but my expectations of a CL were all met. I found the pitch easy to access, level enough to not require the blocks I had packed (I only have a VW T5) and the driveway was plenty big enough. Would recommend.

Great little site

Twyn Shinydd
Just left this site after a long weekend stay. I would recommend others to stay here and will definitely return. The site is not large but there is enough room between the hard standing patches to allow privacy. The pitches are slightly sloping but this is easily overcome with the use of leveling ramps or blocks. If peacefulness and beautiful countryside is what you seek then this site will suit your needs. Facilities are tidily arranged and cleaned regularly by the owners who are very friendly and happy to recommend local pubs/restaurants and places to visit. Great walks are close by along the canal or river Usk. Overall a great great place to stay!
